The Continuing Demise of Aston Villa Fc – Defeat at Doncaster

I feel compelled to write something regarding a football club which I have supported, albeit mainly from a distance, since I was a boy. The last disgraceful episode in the history of Aston Villa Fc was the 3-0 defeat at Doncaster in the league cup. I can take nothing away from Doncaster, who played like lions on the night. They were full of running and pressurised us from the word go. However the point here is that a team of Aston Villa’s obvious size, standing and sometimes glorious past should have been far too much for even the bravest of lower division teams. This was not a one off; sadly it was indicative of the general malaise which seems to have set in at the club over the last two years.

Here is a good example. Our £9million pound club record signing, Juan Pablo Angel strolled round the park (when he did actually move) looking like he did not want to be there. For the most part he loped towards the opposition penalty area when we got forward and then stood around waiting for something to happen. I am no expert in the art of striking, but from many hours watching some of the best strikers in the world even I can tell that a good striker will make something happen, not wait for it to fall into his lap. The fact that he has only managed to score this season against lowly Wickham Wanderers, in an earlier round of the cup, I think says it all.

Liam Ridgewell had a nightmare against Doncaster, giving away a penalty and being lucky not to concede another only a few minutes earlier, however, the fact that he was so noticeably bad at least confirmed some effort on his part. Thomas Sorenson played well throughout and the 3-0 score line will look badly on his record, but was mainly down to shambolic defending. Gareth Barry also had a good game, frequently getting down the left on Doncaster’s wide pitch. However whenever he did so the moves were broken up by the fact that no one was making the runs into the centre for him and our static strikers were being easily marked by defenders they should have been running rings round.

Perhaps the only other player I cannot fault for effort was Milan Barros, who unfortunately looked like he did not relish the cold and his touch on the ball was often well short of what we know he is capable of. I think the game perhaps turned on the penalty claim which TV replays show was an abject penalty when Milan Barros was chopped down in the box. Villa seemed to give up after the penalty was turned down. That aside Doncaster should have had another one when Liam Ridgewell very deliberately shoulder barged one of their players off the ball.

Considering that the league cup was our only realistic chance of success this season, you would have thought that we could have expected a little bit more from the players. It seems to me that the hunger has gone from the side and we have accepted the mid-table mediocrity that is so often the result of a long hard season. And indeed, the league position suggests that they think that even that will be handed to them on a plate. Quite simply it is not good enough. These players are earning – a very loose definition of the word – thousands of pounds per week, and much of that comes out of the ordinary supporters pockets.

I know for a fact that Aston Villa have some of the most fiercely loyal supporters in the land, which perhaps explains why they continue to spend money on substandard products rather than shop elsewhere. However you cannot help thinking that in years to come, unless things change radically, this will not be the case. In today’s society where more and more people are moving away from their towns of birth for employment and social reasons, clubs cannot rely on regional association to maintain their fan base and success, however infrequent, is the only thing which will keep the fans returning.

Aston Villa has always been considered the bigger of the two Birmingham clubs and indeed Birmingham is the second largest city in England. To not have a football team in the top half of the table challenging for honours is unacceptable, or at the very least, surreal.

I have been reading recently that Doug Ellis has finally decided to relinquish control of the club. Doug has done very well for Aston Villa over the years (I am not one of those who blames him for our demise) and has managed to keep the business in a very strong position financially when so many other clubs are in deep financial trouble. Unfortunately the world of football has moved on from when Doug started and it is time for a fresh injection of cash and some new faces to try and revive the club. I sincerely believe it is time for a wholesale change in personnel at the club, players and manager alike.

Irish property developers the Comer Brothers and Michael Neville who are looking to purchase Villa for around £64million will certainly inject some cash to be spent on players, but my cynical side tells me giving it to a manager who fails to inspire his team will merely lead to a squandering of a golden opportunity. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against David O’Leary as a manager and I think in the right circumstances he is very capable. I am suggesting, however, that he has become associated with the failures of Villa over the past couple of years and retaining him for much longer will keep that link to the bad days, when the club needs much more positive input. Likewise Juan Pablo Angel. He is simply another in the long line of expensive strikers who have moved to Villa and failed to live up to their potential. He is a very talented individual and I think perhaps he would benefit from a change of clubs. It is time to cut our losses.

For the Villa fans, we can only hope that the new year brings a new attitude at the club and that things will improve – lets face it, they can’t get much worse after a 3-0 defeat at Doncaster!

Make Money Online With Affiliates

To make money online you do not need to have a website. You will just need a few good products – affiliates that you promote and are paid for promoting them.

Choose the Best Affiliate Product

You must have heard about commissions that people earn when they sell a product of a specific brand. What we are going to do is similar in context only our product will be Internet based. Digital products are the high value products that generate much higher commissions that any other products. Electronic books or e-books and most Internet software’s today are classified as digital products as they can be directly downloaded after purchase. “Commission Junction ” and “ClickBank ” are some of the websites that offer such services .You get a unique affiliate link that has your reference ID as soon as you sign up for a product that you find interesting. The reference id on the affiliate link will allow the commissions on each sale to be tracked correctly and assigned to you.

Go one step ahead and make your affiliate link look Genuine by buying a Domain name (.com)

Get a domain name to redirect/forward to your affiliate link. You can easily register a domain name at a very cheap price ($7.99). Therefore, when someone types in your .com or domain name in his or her browser, it will go to your affiliate link. The visitor will obviously see the website with the product that you promote, and the commissions will be tracked correctly. An affiliate link looks very weird eg. affiliatedoman.com/product?refid=mmhaas compared to the domain name which you will be registering. For eg: If you are selling a digital camera photo software like photolightning then your domain name can be something like photosoftwaresale.com etc. A domain name masks the affiliate link look like it’s your own website. Therefore you have a website for free 🙂 as well as a product to promote with large commissions to earn.

The winning formula: Higher Traffic = Higher Sales

If you are a good writer then write an article promoting your product and a link at the bottom to your website. Articles are the best ways to spread the word about your product and generate traffic. If you are not a good writer, get an article written from some freelancer. In order to make high commissions from your sales, you need to get traffic to your website and thus the affiliate website.

Start an advertising campaign, make sure you do not spend more than you earn. Make a definite plan of action about the amount of money you will be spending on advertising. Many article directories and websites will readily publish your article free with your links. You will be generating money without spending a dime on advertising if you follow this method. This strategy is simple if you have a good article people will read your article, if they like what you describe they will click your link to buy the product, generating commissions for you.

Repeat this step for other products and you will definitely be earning money in a few months and all this without a website.

Lionel Messi – Player Focus

Another off the Argentine assembly line of “New Maradonas”, Lionel Messi may be the first to live up to that unfair comparison. Where Javier Saviola, Juan Roman Riquelme and Pablo Aimar have unsurprisingly failed to match HIS high standards despite initial promise, Messi has shown that even at a young age he is able to carry the weight of expectant teammates and a nation on his shoulders.

Credit must also be given to his Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard for not rushing him into a starting place at Barcelona he is more than ready to hold.

“It is clear Messi is a talent, a future player, but I ask that everyone continues supporting him when he is out of the team because he is still very young.” Rijkaard said in a recent interview. He continued:

“I’m convinced about him because I know he isn’t paying attention to all the speculation in the media.”He prefers to do his talking on the pitch.”

In fact his three goals and one assist in nine league starts for Barcelona this season to add to his goal and assist in the UEFA Champions League back up his coaches claim, and at 18 years young we are only just starting to see glimpses of his enormous potential. Messi states:

“I want to keep on learning and I hope things go well for me. The thing is to help the team as much as possible.”

These are the words of a young man with a focused head on his shoulders and more importantly good advisors around him. How many times have we seen the vultures swoop in on young prodigies sweet talking them and their parents into committing career suicide by sulking and demanding more playing time only to become no more than a trivia question five years down the road.

With the World Cup in Germany swiftly approaching Lionel Messi will definitely be one to watch if selected for national duty.

Enrique Domínguez, Messi’s former coach said “He could do things with the ball that defied the laws of physics. The only other person I have ever seen do that was Diego Maradona”.

Let us all recall that Maradona himself did not come into his own until the 1986 World Cup in Mexico despite being tipped for great things in Spain four years prior. That World Cup was a general disappointment for Maradona as well as Argentina. Messi will be three years younger than Maradona was in his first World Cup appearance and it is important that we all allow Lionel to continue developing at his current pace without placing on him too much pressure for a teenager to handle. For his part Messi must maintain his enthusiasm and work ethic that has so far impressed his coaches and peers. If he can do that then the sky is indeed his limit.

FEMA Plan; Water Delivery by Trucks

In many nations water is brought into urban areas by truck because there is not enough annual rain flows to provide the amount of water needed for the population. In the United States we do not have this problem for the most part although some cities in the US, not many, but a few have completely run out of water during drought periods.

If we have areas of continued severe drought due to climate change in the United States we maybe forced to deliver water by rail or truck to large population bases. Is it safe to do this? Well, trucks move a lot, but with proper baffling systems to haul liquid, yes indeed it is possible. Of course hauling liquid is tricky in any case and drivers would need to be specially trained. Training could be crash course made possible for all truck drivers and therefore already in place, always ready to rock-this is possible. Since it would in an emergency and not everyone runs out of water at the same time, it happens slowly.

In the event of a breach of a large Dam such as in NM, CO, NV, yes it would be quite serious quickly and gearing up if you already had the tankers under a contract to lease immediately would not be hard to secure equipment. It would only take some savvy pre-ready trucking companies to get this done. Water is life, so regulations would be suspended and FEMA would pay for the immediate needs until chaos slowed, big bucks, plus you are helping Americans stay alive.

In 2003 there were border cities out of water in WY-NE-CO. Outside of Billings MT they ran out of water when fire season was coming, they may not have even be able to fight the fires for fear of running out of water? Lots of water issues, slowly creeping up on us and the weather control we are still not very good at, as we have problems turning it off and getting the water-rain where it is needed.

In big events people need food and water, not just food. You could haul in plastic one gallon containers in the refers, which you would anyway and of course truckloads of water in that fashion, but it would not be feasible considering the needs and demand in such an event. It is for this reason we need a drought plan or FEMA plan to truck in large amounts of water in case we need it in a hurry. Consider this in 2006.

Judaism Purified by the Messiah Will Save the World, said Hashem

According to Hashem, through the Biblical Prophets in the Holy Bible, the job of the Messiah upon his return will be to purify Judaism and the Holy Bible. According to Adonai through the Biblical Prophets in the Holy Bible the arrival of the Messiah will be accompanied by great signs of Biblical proportions.

Elohim said through the Biblical Prophet Malachi, “See I am sending my Messenger (Messiah) to prepare the way before me, and the Lord who you seek will suddenly come to his Temple. The Messenger of the “covenant” in whom you delight indeed he is coming.” (Malachi 3:1). The “covenant” is the contract between man and God, the second commandment carved in stone by the Lord, in which man promises to live by God’s 10 commandments and in return God promises to bless mankind for thousands of generations. God also vows to punish the people who fail to follow his 10 commandments and their children and grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The Lord said that he was sending his Messiah (Messenger) to His Temple, The Messenger of the Covenant, to refine the Bibles, to rid them of their impurities. God said that The Messiah would scrub the 2 tablets carved in stone by God, God’s stone table, off with soap and shrink and clean your Holy Bible down with fuller’s soap, back down to God’s 10 commandments. (Malachi 3:5-6). A fuller is one who shrinks and thickens wool with moisture, heat and pressure. God calls his 2 tablets a protective wall, and he called the Holy Bibles human contamination of His protective wall. God vowed to wash away the contamination by breaking down the contaminated human wall, levee, with a deluge of rain, a stormy wind and great hailstones and God vowed to kill those people within the wall – Hurricane Katrina. (Ezekiel 13:14). The Messiah is to come like a thief in the night and no one will have noticed that he was here, just as no one will notice the signs of Biblical proportions of his arrival.

God says, “Who can endure the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner’s fire and like fuller’s soap; he will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the descendants of Levi, (Moses, who carved the second set of the 10 commandments on Mount Sinai), and refine them (the Jewish people), like gold and silver.” (Malachi 3:2-3). God says, “Put me, my word, my 10 commandments, to the test. See if I will not open the windows of Heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing.”) (Malachi 3:10).

Hashem through every Biblical Prophet said that when the Messiah came he would wash away the impurities placed onto God’s table, onto God’s protective wall, God’s 2 stone tablets, with large rocks of hail, (the breaking off of the Antarctic Iceberg and 30% of the Arctic Icecap and Greenland, Gigantic Icebergs, which is now happening), and a destroying tempest, and a storm of mighty overflowing waters, (The Tsunami, and Hurricane Katrina knocking down the Levee, the contaminated man made wall). (Isaiah 28:2, 7-8, 17).

The time has now come for us all to put the Word of God to the test. Hashem carved in stone the sixth commandment, “Don’t Murder.” All human beings, including Jewish people, are composed of water, earth and air. “Don’t murder” means that we must stop poisoning to death the water, earth and air that we are made of with poisonous deadly man made chemicals that now cause 1 in 3 people to die of cancer, and are the cause of global warming, which is melting the icecaps and soon will cause the sea level in the earth’s one ocean to rise by 50 feet thereby submerging most of the earth’s landmasses. The purification of the Word of God by the Messiah, if it is followed by the people of Earth will also bring everlasting Peace on Earth.

Mini Motorcycle Choppers: Fun For All The Family

These mini motorcycle choppers have really become all the rage for children and adult’s alike. They are that one-step above a toy so to speak that teenagers and adults have come to enjoy for their own. You can buy these mini motorcycle choppers in the form of the most popular Harley Davidson style or in fact just about any other style that you may wish for.

Many people opt to have their minichopper custom made to their own specs and plans. It just depends on what you are looking for in a mini bike. If you are a mechanic or are handy in that field you can even build your own. There are plenty of plans and blue prints for sale especially on the Internet.

Depending on what country and or state you live in there will be differing rules and regulations for riding these great little bikes. Some places demand that you must be licensed to ride on the road while others say because the motors are of a smaller size you may ride them on the road without a license.

As much fun as these are they do need the rider to be responsible as some of these bikes can go very fast. In fact some can go up to 60 miles an hour using 4 stroke engines. Children should always be advised on riding them safely and preferably not on the road, as they are not very visual for other vehicles to always see them. But on the other hand the majority of these mini motorcycle choppers are ridden by adults and teenagers.

They really are a lot of fun and they look fantastic. You can pick them up for a reasonable price especially online. They are sold fully assembled or you can assemble them yourself. Don’t forget the option of buying a used one either.

League Two Betting Review – 13 February 2006

Grimsby Town are the new leaders of League Two after beating Boston United 1-0 at Blundell Park. Michael Reddy’s goal after 72 minutes was enough to secure the Mariners’ second win in a row at odds of 9/10.

Last week’s leaders Carlisle United were held to a tense goalless draw at promotion rivals Leyton Orient. Draw backers could have got on at 23/10 with Carlisle now two points behind Grimsby.

Third placed Wycombe Wanderers fought back from two goals down at home to draw 2-2 with relegation strugglers Mansfield Town. Jon Olav-Hjelde and Richie Barker put the Stags 2-0 ahead after 33 minutes, but goals from Tommy Mooney and Stefan Oakes denied an unlikely 9/2 away victory.

Northampton Town squandered the chance to move in to the top three by losing 3-1 at Cheltenham Town. Steve Guinan, Kayode Odejayi and JJ Melligan ensured a home win at 6/4.

Rushden & Diamonds refuse to go down without a fight and Petr Miklonda’s 30 yard strike gave them all three points against Notts County. Barry Hunter’s side, 8/5 on the day, have lost just one of their last five games.

Bottom club Stockport County also earned a vital win at faltering Chester City. Liam Dickinson broke the deadlock for County after 76 minutes but Ryan Lowe equalised for City five minutes later. With the match heading for a draw Dickinson grabbed the vital 5/2 winner a minute from time to keep the Hatters just one point from safety.

Meanwhile, Torquay United remain in deep trouble after losing 2-0 at Lincoln City. Scott Kerr after 12 minutes and a last minute goal from Jeff Hughes secured a 5/6 win for the Imps.

Macclesfield Town vs Wrexham, Rochdale vs Barnet and Bury vs Oxford were all called off due to frozen pitches.

Podcast Secrets Revealed

There you are, flipping through the radio stations yet again, looking for SOMETHING, ANYTHING, worth listening to. Maybe you’ll find a song here or there that you like, or a talk show on a subject you are interested in. Then it’s time to flip the stations again. “What I need,” you think to yourself, “is my own personal radio station.”

Enter the world of podcasting! Podcasting is just like having your own radio station, programmed with your favorite items and ready for you to listen anywhere, anytime. With podcasting, you can listen to:

[o] WHAT you want

[o] WHEN you want

[o] WHERE you want

No more searching and hoping to find a radio station that plays your favorite music. No more missing a talk show broadcast because you are sitting in class or in a meeting at the wrong time. With podcasting, you get just the content you want, from the sources you want, when you want. And there are no ads or commercials! What Tivo has done for your TV viewing, podcasting can do for your radio listening, and there is no FCC regulations either!

So what exactly is podcasting? A podcast is an audio file stored on the Internet that you can download to your computer or MP3 player and listen to whenever you want. It might be music, or it could be a talk show, a lecture, a recorded tele-seminar, a sermon, a football game, etc. Podcasting gives you the ultimate in choice and convenience.

o Podcasting is all about… CHOICE

Podcasting offers you unlimited choices in listening. Even though podcasting is a relatively new technology, there are already thousands of podcasts to which you can subscribe. No radio station in your city that plays the indy music you love? Check out East Detroit Radio.

Want to improve the koi pond in your backyard? Subscribe to Koi Club of the Air.

Parenting questions? Try the Front Porch Parenting podcast.

You can find a podcast on literally any subject you are interested in! In fact, http://www.podcastalley.com currently lists 2,380 podcasts in 15 different categories, while http://www.ipodder.org lists 4,493.

Another advantage of podcasting is that, because podcasts can appeal to niche audiences, they can cover their topics in much greater depth and be far more informative than regular radio broadcasts, which must appeal to a wide audience. Also, with a podcast, you can back up and listen to a segment again if you missed something the first time. If you come to a segment that is boring, you can fast-forward. You can listen as many times as you want to all or part of the podcast. And you can stop listening all together for a few minutes, hours, or even days if something else comes up.

o Podcasting is all about… CONVENIENCE

MP3 files have been available for download from the internet for years. But what makes podcasting different and truly useful is that you can subscribe to programs you are interested in. This means you don’t have to check your favorite podcast web sites every day for new episodes and manually download them.

Instead, free podcasting software automatically downloads new episodes to your computer as soon as they are available. This makes it easy and convenient for you to stay up-to-date with your favorite podcasts.

Once your podcasts are downloaded to your computer, you can synch them to your MP3 player, burn them to a CD for playback on your CD player, or simply listen to them through your computer’s speakers. This gives you the ultimate convenience of listening to your programs at your leisure. You can listen to the podcasts whenever you want – as you are driving, walking, exercising, knitting, etc. With a podcast, you can be mobile, live your life, and listen to your content ANYWHERE.

o Podcasting is… FREE & EASY

Not only are podcasts themselves generally free, but so is the podcasting software you need! Both podcasts and podcasting software are easy to find on the internet and are easy to use.

Podcasting is… waiting for you!

If you haven’t been exposed to podcasts yet, you soon will be! Podcasts are literally everywhere now, and more podcasts are being created every day.

League Two Betting Review

Carlisle returned to the top of League Two after thumping basement club Rushden & Diamonds 5-0 at Brunton Park. Derek Holmes put the Cumbrians ahead after 42 seconds and it was one-way traffic thereafter with two goals each from Karl Hawley and Simon Hackney. Paul Simpson’s side were 8/15 favourites on the day and 4/1 to win the division outright.

Second placed Wycombe were held to a 1-1 draw at Boston. Julian Joachim gave the home side a 56th minute lead but Kevin Betsy levelled matters 15 minutes later. This was John Gorman’s side’s seventeenth draw of the season, something noted by shrewd punters backing at 9/4.

Veteran Ian Taylor’s goal nine minutes from time propelled 8/15 Northampton into the third automatic promotion spot with a victory against Torquay United on Friday night.

Fifth placed Leyton Orient kept up their promotion dreams and plunged Chester into further relegation trouble with a 2-0 win. A Matthew Lockwood penalty 10 minutes before the break and Paul Connor after 72 minutes secured a 13/10 win.

Play-off chasing Peterborough chalked up their fourth win in five matches with a 2-1 victory at Notts County. Danny Crow and James Quinn put the 9/5 Posh in the driving seat before Eugene Dadi netted a late penalty for the Magpies.

Wrexham looked set to earn victory at 9/5 after on-loan Blackburn striker gave them a 2-0 lead at Mansfield, only for Richie Barker to hit back with two goals in three minutes to secure a point at Field Mill.

Stockport kept their heads above water after coming from two goals behind to draw 2-2 at Bristol Rovers. Two goals from Richard Walker looked enough for an 8/11 home win, but the Hatters fought back through Adam Le Fondre and a Mark Hughes equaliser two minutes from time.
